Pets + Understanding

Pets are not merely cosmetic: the active pet and species-understanding collection create a long-lived stat layer. Build useful breadth first, then spend reroll resources only on a species and preset that serves a real character job.

HOW IT WORKS

Pets + Understanding, explained.

The pet system has three layers: the pet you actively use, permanent ownership breadth, and Genus Insight for a family of pets. The active pet provides immediate utility; ownership and Insight form the long-term stat project. On current KR, ownership and Genus Insight are shared by characters on the same server, the highest Insight result is used, and pet levels from the roster contribute together.

RULE 01

Ownership is permanent breadth

A new pet matters even when it never becomes your active companion, because ownership and collection milestones feed server-wide progression.

RULE 02

Insight belongs to a genus

Level and analyse the family that offers stats your roster actually uses. Published probability tables vary by genus and Insight level.

RULE 03

Active utility is a separate choice

Auto-Loot, convenience and combat utility determine the active pet; the best collection pet is not automatically the best equipped pet.

THE EFFICIENT ROUTE

Progress it in three deliberate phases.

START

Take guaranteed breadth

Claim campaign, event, dungeon and merchant pets before buying duplicates or reroll materials.

BUILD

Choose one useful genus

Pool levels into a family that supports the main, then keep the first functional Insight result.

OPTIMIZE

Set minimum reroll targets

Use presets or current KR auto-analysis only after defining acceptable grades; stop immediately when the target is met.

COMMON TRAPS

What usually wastes progress.

Rerolling several genera at once and finishing none of them.
Funding an alt-specific perfect roll before the shared collection has a useful baseline.
Assuming every pet, Auto-Loot ticket or preset rule will launch unchanged in Global.
